C – The C stands for a “C” section v-belt. This is considered a “Classic” v-belt style that has a top width of 7/8 (0.875) inches and a thickness of 17/32 (0.531) inches.
173– 173 inches is the inside circumference of the belt. For C-section v-belts, the outside circumference is found by adding 4 inches to the inside length of the belt. So, the outside circumference of the C173 belt is 177 inches (173+4).
